We meet in the upper room of The Witham, which is in the centre of Barnard Castle. N.B. The Witham is technically closed on Mondays but they will be opening up for us. However please use the entrance from the car park by Morrison's, not the front door on the Market Place as it will be locked.
Car parking: there is ample space in the pay car park by Morrison's, or limited time free parking on the cobbles in front of The Witham.
What sort of things do we do?
Many of the talks and discussions are led by members of the group and cover a wide range of topics in science and engineering. In the past they have included aspects of Alchemy, Wind Energy, and Drugs in Sport to name but a few. During the year we try to fit in one or two outings to companies and places of interest. In recent years members have visited Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station and NETPark at Sedgefield and two Recycling Plants.
