All members are invited to the Monthly Meeting normally on the fourth Thursday of the month.
The meeting starts with a brief review of u3a news, followed by a presentation from a guest speaker, then a further opportunity for socialising. Click on tabs below for details:
At The Witham, 3 Horsemarket, in the centre of Barnard Castle. DL12 8LY.
The meetings take place on the Fourth Thursday of every month. The exception is December when the Christmas Lunch is held earlier in that month. The AGM forms the first part of the April meeting.
Meetings assemble at 10.00am to allow members to look at information about events and talk to group convenors and committee members. A speaker (always interesting and informative) gives a talk at 10.30am until 11.30/11.45pm approximately.
If members have visitors staying with them (or staying in the area) they may bring the visitors to the Monthly Meeting.
NB Children under 18 are not allowed to attend Monthly Meetings as they would not be covered by our insurance.
Non-members are welcome to attend one Monthly Meeting as a ‘taster’ before deciding to join Teesdale u3a. The £1.00 admission fee applies. There will always be someone to welcome you, committee members may display their membership card in a red holder.
There is an admission charge of £1.00.
Free for 2 hours on the cobbles in front of the Witham or Pay and Display in Morrison’s Car Park to the rear and side of the Witham.
Access to The Witham is excellent. There is stepless access at both the front and rear entrances. Car parking is most accessible from the rear ('Morrisons' Car Park) where there are no kerbs to negotiate.
Within the building, there is a lift to all floors and this is suitable for standard wheelchairs. If there are any doubts about access please contact The Witham by phone on 01833 631107 or by email at info@thewitham.org.uk.
Once in the Music Hall, there is a hearing loop for those with hearing aids.
