Wimmin’ Swimmin’ is a monthly hour long session at Teesdale Leisure Centre where we wimmin’ have exclusive use of the pool, with a professional lifeguard in attendance.

The aim of the sessions is to encourage the reluctant/timid/forgotten-how-to-do-it female swimmers back into the pool and to gain sufficient confidence in the water to be able to attend and enjoy mainstream sessions.

The benefits of swimming are great, particularly for the older body. These include non-load bearing exercise which eases stressed joints and strengthens the core, providing relaxation and a sense of well-being, and making new and different friendships. Exercise in general is empowering and stimulating.

Annie and/or Ruth are experienced swimmers and will be in attendance to support where necessary.
