July 2026 - Chair's Letter - Keeping Teesdale u3a Running

Dear Friends

Here I am again with what I think of as my ramblings, however this time with a twist. I thought you would like to know what the teams behind the committee do.

We have seven teams who comprise of both committee and non-committee members. I will introduce them in alphabetical order.

The Forum Team – a group of members who kindly edit and produce our amazing monthly Forum magazine. 

The IT team – managing all our IT needs, keeping us up to date, offering information via the website on all our activities and how to contact us.

The Minutes team – this group helps keep the committee on track and we would be lost without them

The Publicity Team – who work hard to keep you in the know and let potential members know about us

The Social & Workshops Team – This team works hard to offer you opportunities to try new skills and gain new knowledge through our Saturday workshops, as well as our social events during the year, e.g. the summer trip and the Christmas meal.

The Speaker Team – We all benefit from this team’s work with the amazing range of speakers we get to hear each month. A lot of hard work.

The Treasury Team – a team of great value to convenors and members, keeping us on the financial straight and narrow, with our turnover now being in the £30.000 bracket.

If you fancy joining one of these teams or have skills you are willing to share please let one of the committee members know. We will welcome you with open arms.

I hope you are now wiser about all the people working on your behalf to make Teesdale u3a what it is.

As usual I am looking forward to seeing many of you at the next monthly meeting and catching up with all that you have been doing.
