Book Group 2 started in the spring of 2009 with three members, and since then we have grown and shrunk, as is the norm for groups over the years. At present we are 5 and seek to encourage more members to join us.
We meet in each other’s homes, and have developed an informal and friendly approach to our meetings, including enjoying many varieties of biscuits and cups of tea or coffee.
Our book choices are identified by individual members and have been eclectic in taste, ranging from the classics, such as Jane Austen’s ‘Mansfield Park’, to the thriller mysteries of C. J. Sansom and Ann Cleeves, to modern novels such as the ‘The Penguin Lessons’ by Tom Mitchell. A new feature we sometimes use, is instead of everyone reading the same book, we all bring to the group a favourite read or author to talk about.
Please contact the Convener if you are interested in joining us.
