In May the photography group visited the Beamish Museum. Our recent run of blue sky days for Photography Group outings finally broke, as the weather was overcast with intermittent rain. But at least that meant we didn’t have any harsh shadows to worry about and it provided a strong “grim up north” vibe to work with. Plus, the weather meant that we had the added bonus that the museum was not as busy as it often is, making it easier to frame compositions without accidental pedestrians. Despite the weather, we found lots of interesting subjects to photograph, not least the helpful and friendly staff. Of course, in the few hours we were there we did not come close to exhausting the photographic possibilities, so we will be returning to the museum later in the year to make the most of our year-long tickets.
Our next outing will be to the Royal Horticultural Society gardens at Harlow Carr, on Tuesday, 2nd of June.
