In June the photography group made an excursion to the Royal Horticultural Society gardens at Harlow Carr. The previous day had seen heavy rain throughout the region, but on the day of our visit the rain held off, although the sky was overcast and intermittently threatening. Some of the flowers looked a bit battered by the recent downpour but, on the plus side, many of them still had photogenic raindrops clinging to them. So, after the ritual visit to Betty’s Tea Rooms for mid-morning refreshment, we set off to wander the grounds in search of interesting subjects to photograph. As usual, different members found inspiration in different subjects, which resulted in a pleasing array of images. A thoroughly enjoyable day out.
Our next outing will be to Hopetown in Darlington and the Tees Cottage Pumping Station, on Tuesday, 7th of July.
