It is now just over a year since we began recycling our empty blister packs. Our sixth box is almost full - we have saved over 50kg from landfill or incineration!
Without your generosity and effort this would not have been possible so a BIG thankyou to all for continuing to recycle and donate towards the purchase of the boxes.
I remain in contact with Debbie Hibbitts, Durham County Council's Senior Monitoring Officer, Strategic Waste Neighbourhoods, in the hope that DCC will eventually provide a facility at Stainton Grove Recycling Centre. They are interested in "expanding recycling opportunities.... such as blister packs....your success provides valuable evidence of the demand for such services" She sends her thanks to everyone involved in the scheme.
