Many people interested in investigating their family history don’t know where to begin. Pam Taylor of the Family History Interest Group has prepared a ‘distance learning’ pack for just such people and she introduced this pack to the ten members who attended the workshop. Those who signed up for the pack will receive the (free) distance learning course to work through at their own pace, learning where are the free sources of information on the internet and how to approach researching your family tree. Pam will be there to answer their questions by email and mentor their progress. When they have found their feet they may wish to join in the Family History Interest Group meetings which look at different topics in more depth. Anyone who couldn’t attend the workshop but who wishes to receive the course should contact me.
